The U3A Jazz Appreciation group normally meets on the 4th Thursday of the month at 2.30pm (or 2.00pm in the winter). Different people lead and the sessions take place in the houses of members. Recent topics include The Dutch Swing College, Third Stream (fusion of jazz and classical music), recordings of music written by W C Handy, US West Coast Jazz featuring Gerry Mulligan, early British jazz, Humphrey Lyttelton, and Boogie-Woogie! After half time refreshments we often play CDs that members have brought and want to share. The afternoon lasts about 2 hours.

We have spaces for new members so why not give us a try? You will find a warm welcome and all jazz tastes are catered for.
